Overview

The Department of Political Science at the University of the Punjab, Lahore, is a premier institution for studying and researching governance, politics, international relations, and public affairs systems. In furtherance of its vision of scholarship and critical examination, this department has pioneered political studies in Pakistan since 1933.

The Department offers well-grounded professional training in curriculum development and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels through a comprehensive BS, MPhil, PhD, and Certificate and Diploma programs, which tailor theoretical foundations to the contemporary challenges in the political arena. Our faculty members are renowned Political Scientists trained in Political Theory, Comparative Politics, Human Development, Diplomacy, International Political Economy, Public Policy, Terrorism and Counter Terrorism, and Peace and Conflict Management.

We strive to maintain a culture that encourages critical thinking, thoughtful discussion, and collaborative work across disciplines. The department actively seeks and organizes seminars, conferences, and podcasts to merge scholarly work and policy formulation.
